Tango Hints for TodaySat, Oct 3, 2026

Stuck on today’s Tango? Three nudges, smallest first. No spoilers here: open one, go back to the board, and only open the next if you’re still stuck.

Tango #3 · 6×6, Hard

Play today’s Tango →

Hint 1 The smallest nudge

Technique: Pairs. Two matching symbols side by side: the cells on either side of them take the other symbol.

Column 5 has two suns side by side, so the cell next to the pair must be a moon. A third sun would make three in a row.

Hint 2 A bit more

Technique: Balance. A row or column already has its three of one symbol: every other cell takes the other symbol.

Column 5 already has all three of its suns, so its other cells must all be moons.

Hint 3 The biggest nudge

Technique: Link. An = or × sign with one side filled tells you the other side.

The × sign means this cell is the opposite of its neighbor at row 3, column 5, which is a sun. So this cell is a moon.

How these hints work

These are the same three hints the Hint button gives on today’s board, in the same order, starting from a fresh board. Each one fills the cells a single technique proves, and names that technique. Already partway through? Skip to the first hint you haven’t found yourself.

The hints stop at three on purpose. Past that, the techniques do the work, and you’ll get more out of finishing it yourself. There’s no full solution on this page.

The techniques, in a line each

  • Pairs: Two matching symbols side by side: the cells on either side of them take the other symbol.
  • Sandwich: Two matching symbols with one gap between them: the gap takes the other symbol.
  • Balance: A row or column already has its three of one symbol: every other cell takes the other symbol.
  • Link: An = or × sign with one side filled tells you the other side.
  • Lookahead: Try a symbol in your head: if one more forced move would break a rule, the cell must be the other symbol.

Each one has a short lesson and a few practice boards in the Tango Learn track.

Stuck on LinkedIn’s Tango too?

The hints above are for our daily board, not theirs. But the techniques work on any Tango board, including LinkedIn’s, because the rules are the same. Practice them on our free daily and the next tricky board goes quicker.
